My New Look
Okay, I guess the title is a bit deceiving. It's my new blog look. After a lot of reconfiguring, I finally have it the way I want it. However, Gavin doesn't like the plain white background. Should I add some color on the sides or leave it white?

Year of Donations!
I've discovered that this year is full of donations for me. I'm working on fundraising for my friend's son, for my cousin, and I'm also in the process of...donating my hair.
For YEARS, I've been wanting to donate my hair to Locks of Love. But whenever my hair got to a certain point, I would freak out and cut it. This is me now, and this is usually when I throw up my hands and quit...but not this time. This was one of my New Years Goals and I intend to see it through.
I wanted to take a picture as a reference, so that I have can remember my goal. Kind of like when someone wants to loose weight and they take a picture as a reminder and incentive. I may have my hair up in a ponytail a lot, but I'm so excited to do this.
Oh, and forgive the blog, it's under construction.

Lexie
Please Take the Time to Read This
Many of you know Lexie or have heard me talk about Lexie. Lexie is my cousin, my best friend, and she's legally blind. She can see well enough to read with a magnify glass and watch tv (at a VERY close distance), but she can't drive or walk across the street. She is mother to two boys. As mothers, I'm sure all of us realize how difficult being a mother would be without the ability to run to the grocery store, take your kids to school and their activities, just to list a few. All of their family time goes towards running errands that she can't do while her husband is at work.

Oops, Missionary Moment, and "Oh, So Cute!"
Oops
I uploaded my video card from my camera and realized that there were some things that I didn't post. K's First Birthday! He loved opening his present and playing with it...as you can see.

Submissions
A few days ago, I did it. I submitted one of my poems to Deseret Book/Shadow Mountain Publishing and to Covenant Communications (aka Seagull Book). Because it's Christmas, I decided that maybe it was time to try. I don't expect that ANYTHING will come of it, but I figured that there was no harm in trying. If it's rejected, I'll try some other publishing companies and see what comes of it. The nice thing is that it isn't just for LDS readers. Spiritual yes, but very universial...to Christians anyway.
I wrote this a couple of years ago, and tried to make the verses match with 'Twas the Night Before Christmas as closely as possible.
